Who can create reviews?

Any IITK student with a valid email address can create reviews. This ensures that all reviews come from genuine students who have actually taken courses or projects with the professors.

Are the reviews trustworthy?

Yes, we take several measures to ensure review authenticity: 1) Only verified IITK students can post reviews, 2) Each student can only review a professor once, 3) Reviews are moderated to prevent inappropriate content 4)Reviews that are upvoted are displayed first and 5) We encourage detailed, constructive feedback.

What do the parameters in the web chart mean?

The web chart displays different aspects of a professor's performance, divided into two categories

Teaching Metrics:

  • Friendliness: Approachability and willingness to assist students
  • Pacing: Speed and clarity of lecture delivery
  • Grading: Fairness and transparency in grading

How are the overall ratings calculated?

Overall ratings are calculated based on the average of all individual parameter ratings, weighted equally. This gives you a comprehensive view of the professor's performance across different aspects of teaching.

What do the grade distribution charts show?

The grade distribution charts display the percentage of students who received different grades (A, B+, B, C, F) in the professor's courses. This helps you understand the typical grading patterns and course difficulty.

Using the Platform

How do I search for a professor?

You can search for a professor using their name or department ('Chemical Engineering' for example) in the search bar. The search is case-insensitive and will show matching results as you type.

How do I report inappropriate content?

If you find any inappropriate content, you can use the flag icon on any review to report it. Our moderation team will review the report and take appropriate action.
